All Accord models equipped with the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink system, allow you to make and receive hands-free calls by using Bluetooth technology with the audio system and your Bluetooth-compatible cell phone. All of this can be done without ever having to handle your phone as long as it's somewhere in the vehicle. The system is easy to operate using voice commands and can be paired with up to six different phones. Accord’s Bluetooth HandsFreeLink internal phone book can store up to 50 speed dial numbers with voice tags, or you can import your entire phonebook into the navigation system.

Making and Receiving Calls

To use the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink system, turn the vehicle's ignition to ON, turn on your phone-with Bluetooth enabled-and place it anywhere inside the vehicle. Wait for the phone link icon to appear on the navigation display. Then press and release the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink TALK button. After the beep, say "Call" or "Dial," followed by the phone number. Or choose a number that you've stored in the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink phonebook by saying "Call" or "Dial," followed by the phonebook entry name. For more details on using the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink system, please watch the video or see your Technology Reference Guide or Accord Owner's Manual.

Phonebook Function

Your Bluetooth HandsFreeLink internal phonebook allows you to store up to 50 phone number entries. You can input them via speech recognition, or you can use Bluetooth to send individual phone numbers from your cell phone. To add a number to the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink phonebook using Voice Recognition, press and release the TALK button and say "Phonebook." The system will then prompt you with available commands. For complete directions, view the video or refer to the Technical Reference Guide or the Accord Owner's Manual.

Phonebook Import

The Accord's navigation system has an expanded contact database that can store up to 10,000 phone numbers per phone, allowing your entire phonebook to be imported into the navigation system's database at one time. It's separate from the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink voice-command phonebook and can only be accessed through the navigation system INFO screen menu. Currently, only a select few cell phone models have this capability, so make sure yours is one of them before trying to import your cell phone's phonebook.
