Bluetooth HandsFreeLink

CR-Z EX models allow you to make and receive hands-free calls with your Bluetooth-compatible cell phone through Bluetooth technology and the audio system. All of this can be done without ever having to handle your phone as long as it's somewhere in the vehicle. The system is easy to operate using voice commands and can be paired with up to six different phones. CR-Z’s HandsFreeLink® internal phone book can store up to 50 speed dial numbers with voice tags, or you can import your entire phonebook into the navigation system.

Phone Pairing

Each phone will have its own pairing process. You can view the pairing instructions for your phone-and print them out-at handsfreelink.honda.com . You can also call the HandsFreeLink help center at 888-528-7876 for information on how to pair your phone to the system. See your Technology Reference Guide or CR-Z Owner's Manual for additional details.

Making and Receiving Calls

To use the HandsFreeLink system, once you pair your phone, turn the vehicle's ignition to ON, turn on your paired phone-with Bluetooth enabled-and place it anywhere inside the vehicle. Wait for the Bluetooth icon to appear on the navigation display. Then press and release the HandsFreeLink TALK button. After the beep, say "Call" or "Dial," followed by the phone number. Or choose a number that you've stored in the HandsFreeLink phonebook by saying "Call" or "Dial," followed by the phonebook entry name. For more details on using the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink system, please watch the video or see your Technology Reference Guide or CR-Z Owner's Manual.

Phonebook Function

Your Bluetooth HandsFreeLink internal phonebook allows you to store up to 50 phone number entries. Depending on your phone’s capability, you can input them via speech recognition, or you can use Bluetooth to send individual phone numbers from your cell phone. To add a number to the HandsFreeLink phonebook using Voice Recognition, press and release the TALK button and say "Phonebook." The system will then prompt you with available commands. For complete directions, view the video or refer to the Technical Reference Guide or the CR-Z Owner's Manual.

Phonebook Import

The CR-Z's navigation system has an expanded contact database that can store up to 10,000 phone numbers per phone, allowing your entire phonebook to be imported into the navigation system's database at one time. It's separate from the HandsFreeLink voice-command phonebook and can only be accessed through the navigation system INFO screen menu. Not all cell phone models have this capability, so make sure yours is one of them before trying to use this function.
