Radio Data System
The Fit audio system features the Radio Data System, or RDS, which allows it to display station and programming information from participating stations on the FM band.
Along with station info, RDS information includes the station category. Examples of these categories include:
- Top 40
- Rhythm and Blues
- Religious Music
To see if a station is equipped with RDS, tune into the station and press "Title". The station’s call letters are usually the first to appear followed by the category. Additional information may follow such, program name song title, song artist etc… each station determines what information is displayed.
When "Title" is engaged and a category is shown, you can view the various available RDS categories by pushing the Play button or the Back button above and below the volume knob. You can then use the scan button to find stations under the selected category.
As the system finds stations within the selected category, it will stop and sample the station for 10 seconds before moving on. To remain on a station, press the SCAN button again.
Refer to the Quick Start Guide or the owner’s manual to get more details on RDS and your audio system.
