Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

Part of Honda Sensing™ available on Accord LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, EX-L V-6 and standard on Touring trims, the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)* works proactively at speeds over 45 MPH to help keep the vehicle centered inside a detected lane by providing steering torque so long as there is no turn signal activated. A camera located between the windshield and the rearview mirror can detect lane separation markings, and as the vehicle moves from the center of the lane, the Electric Power Steering system applies torque to return the vehicle to the middle of the lane. The farther it gets from the center, the more torque is applied. The Lane Keeping Assist System is not a substitute for steering the vehicle. The driver must keep their hands on the wheel for the system to operate.

* LKAS only assists driver in maintaining proper lane position when lane markings are identified without a turn signal in use and can only apply mild steering torque to assist. LKAS may not detect all lane markings; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
