Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)

Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) helps to ensure Accord models with Honda Sensing™ only leave a detected lane, or the roadway altogether, when the driver intends. If your vehicle drifts too close to detected lane markings while driving between 45 and 90 miles per hour without a turn signal activated, the system alerts you with a visual and audible lane-departure warnings. If no steering correction is applied, the system can escalate by applying steering torque to help keep the vehicle in the detected lane when you start to cross over the lane line or road edge. If the system determines that steering input is insufficient to keep the vehicle on the roadway, it may apply braking to help keep it from departing.
